Blair County students got hands-on vehicle rescue training from some local volunteer firefighters.

The Greater Career and Technology Center allowed students to rip apart a car with the needed rescue equipment. The training was hosted by Newburg volunteer first responders.

The training allowed students to learn about the equipment and what to do at the scenes of car accidents.

Officials said it inspired some students to become the next generation of volunteers.
