Local businesses host holiday cookie crawl

Local News

Some businesses in Altoona hosted a holiday cookie crawl on Monday.

Folks followed a map to places throughout the city with a punch card. At each store, locals got a sticker and some free cookies, then moved on to the next one. Folks who had a full punch card at the end of the event had the chance to win a prize.

“It was just a fun idea to get business for local businesses and to get the community to come out and see everybody. Maybe they see some businesses have never seen before, and it’s just a fun way to celebrate the holiday and get some free cookies. Who doesn’t want free cookies?” Susan Cashner, owner of Sly Photography, said.

The winner took home a gift basket, and organizers say next year’s event will be even bigger and better. mny businesses in Hollidaysburg are already preparing to join in the fun.
