Blair County’s Tourism Marketing Grant Program gave out its annual awards on Friday.
Eight organizations received a total of more than $30,000.
One of those awardees was Rails and Trails of Central Pennsylvania. Their vice president, Karl King, said the grant money is a great way to get more people to come and visit.
“We intend to try and bring people into the area and to experience the lower trail. It’s one of the most beautiful trails in Pennsylvania, and it’s part of the September 11th National Memorial trail, which links the three September 11th sites. It goes across Pennsylvania and through Blair County, so it will bring people from across the country and internationally, as well, to experience that trail,” King said.
