Classes train future firefighters

Local News

The Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center is getting high school students prepared to work in homeland security and emergency services.

Students who may be interested in working for or volunteering for a fire company were learning how to set up a water system. That’s when there is no fire hydrant nearby.

The CTC teaches 3 separate career fields and 18 different jobs. Many are crucial for our communities.

The program is open to adults as well. Anyone interested in volunteering at a fire company can give Rick Erculiani a call at the Altoona CTC at 814-505-1261. He can match you up with a place in need.
