State College, Pa- Tuesday, a Centre County a tech company, along with other county officials announced it’s expanding in downtown State College.
KCF Technologies along with the Centre County Economic Development Partnership said at a press conference that they plan to lease a new 15-thousand square foot space giving them opportunities for new employment.
Since their lease is not official at the moment, the company is not speaking about their exact location but said they are excited to open up a third office in State College.
“The real benefit of being able to grow into this expansion is that we’re able to say downtown and occupy a space without having to move out of town, and centralize one single location. It allows us to grow organically, yet thrive downtown where we really want to be,” said Jeremy Frank, CEO of KCF Technologies.
Helping to fund the expansion are Patton, Ferguson, and College Townships along with State College Borough, and Centre County. Who joined to give a combined $150,000 to help fund the $1.5 million expansion.
“We like to be downtown because it’s fun… it’s good for the community. We believe it’s a higher quality of life when you live where you can bike to work or walk to work like I do, and like a lot of our people do,” Frank said.
About half of KCF’s employees are Penn State graduates.
