Trending: Payless opens up fake luxury shoe store in viral prank

Central PA Live

Discount shoe retailer Payless opened a luxury shoe store called “Palessi” and filled it with the brand’s inexpensive footwear.

So-called fashion influences were invited to shop, and some paid hundreds of dollars for shoes that typically cost about $40.

Palessi made $3,000 in sales in just three hours.

The buyers got their money back and free shoes for their trouble.

The campaign has gone viral.
