A celebrity chef has been nominated to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to the Washington Post, chef Jose Andres received a nomination for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for his work with his non-profit
Andrew founded World Central Kitchen in 2010. It serves hot meals in disaster zones and difficult situations.
After Hurricane Maria, he and his organization fed more than a reported 3 million people in Puerto Rico.
He also recruited celebrity chefs like Guy Fieri and Tyler Florence to feed 15,000 survivors of the California camp Fire.
Representative John Delaney of Maryland told the Post he nominated the restauranteur for the award.
Winners will be announced next October.
