Eel Catches from seven countries participated in an annual festival in Thailand, and the rules were simple.
The competition was split up into male and female team divisions. Contestants had to jump into a muddy pond and catch the most eels with their bare hands.
The first-place winners in the individual division could only score three eels a piece. Still, participants and spectators enjoyed the competition and the annual festival.
The fair is considered a celebration of Thai Farmers’ traditions and livelihood.
