Amazon is determined to make one-day shipping the norm for prime members.
The online retailer says it will invest $800 million in the second quarter of this year towards making free one-day shipping the prime standard.
It’s unclear when that option will be the standard, but Amazon’s Chief Financial Officer says he expects the company to make “steady progress” on it this year.
It also provides two-hour deliveries on certain products and customers.
It also provides 2-hour deliveries on certain items via its “Prime Now” service. When Amazon Prime launched more than a decade ago, it came with the promise of two-day shipping.
There are current more than 100 million Amazon Prime Subscribers.
