Morning Forecast, Wednesday February...

A low pressure system will move through the region today. This will increase our clouds and bring a wintry mix with it. At the onset, it looks like we will have a bit of snow, then it will switch over to some rain, before it turns back into snow. North of I-80 there will be around 6-9” of snowfall. West of I-99 expect 3-6” and near the Maryland and Pennsylvania border around 1-3” Not only will we have a plowable snowfall, but the snow will switch to freezing rain and sleet. Across the Laurel Highlands and southern counties we could have around a tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch of ice accretion. Due to this the National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings for the viewing area until this evening. You will want to use caution while commuting on today and into early Thursday morning. We will have slick and icy road conditions. Also, within the steady snowfall, visibility will be reduced and it will be very difficult to see.

Our high temperatures today will be in the mid to upper 30s. Tonight temperatures will quickly drop which will allow the rain switch to snow showers. Our low temperatures will fall into the upper teens to lower 20s. A few flurries will stay around early Thursday. During most of Thursday we will have more clouds compared to sunshine.
