Midday Forecast, Monday October 2, 2017

A ridge of high pressure is overtop of Central PA. This afternoon we will have blue sky and a lot of sunshine. Our high temperatures today will reach into the upper 60s to lower 70s. Winds today will be from the southeast between five to ten miles an hour. Tonight we will have a mainly clear sky and temperatures will tumble into the mid to upper 40s. We will also have areas of fog forming into early Tuesday morning.

During the day on Tuesday the ridge of high pressure will move off to the northeast, but we will continue to have a mostly sunny and dry day. Our high temperatures will be in the lower to mid 70s. We had some rainfall this past Friday, but overall in the last two weeks it has been very dry in Central Pennsylvania. This is not good for fall foliage, and we will not really see much rain this week either. Tuesday night we will have a mainly clear sky with only a few passing clouds. There will also be some patchy fog. Our low temperatures on Tuesday night will fall into the mid to upper 40s. Wednesday we will have sunshine with a few passing clouds. It is going to be a warm day for October. Our high temperatures on Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 70s. Our average high temperatures for October are in the mid 60s. Winds on Wednesday will be from the southwest between five to ten miles an hour. There will be a front to our north and west, as it nears our area, it will weaken. However, Wednesday night we could have a shower or two, otherwise we will be partly cloudy. Our low temperatures on Wednesday will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Thursday our high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s once again. On Thursday we will have a mix of clouds and sun, with a stray shower or two. Most of us will stay dry. Winds on Thursday will be from the west between ten to fifteen miles an hour. Thursday night there will be patchy clouds as temperatures drop into the upper 40s to lower 50s. A cold front will move through the area on Friday. This looks to be our best bet for rain for the work and school week. On Friday there will be clouds, some sunshine along with scattered showers. Our high temperatures on Friday will be in the mid to upper 70s. Winds on Friday will be form the southwest between five to ten miles an hour. Low temperatures on Friday night will fall into the lower to mid 50s with patchy clouds and a shower or two.

Saturday will be a breezy day. Winds will be form the southeast between ten to fifteen miles an hour. Another system will be approaching our region. At this time it looks like on Saturday we will have variable cloudiness along with some showers. Our high temperatures will be in the lower to mid 70s. On Sunday we will have more clouds than sun with scattered showers. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the mid to upper 70s. Next week our high temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
