Updated Tuesday Midday, July 22nd

Reported by Meteorologist Regina Miller

We’ll have some hazy sunshine for this afternoon.  It will be very humid with high temperatures ranging from the low to mid 80s in the ridges to the northwest (along the Route 219 corridor) to the mid to upper 80s in the areas to the southeast (along and east of Interstate 99).  Though an isolated thunderstorm is possible this afternoon, that will be the exception and not the rule as most locations will be dry.  Any stray storm that does pop up however could have an associated drenching downpour.  Tonight we’ll have just a few patchy clouds along with areas of fog.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s.  Tomorrow more locations will stand a better chance of seeing showers or storms starting to develop by later in the afternoon as a front starts to move into the region.  Temperatures will not get as hot in northwestern zones where rain will move in earlier.  In those locations along and west of the Allegheny ridgeline, temps will be around 80 and it will be progressively warmer the farther east you go ahead of the front where southwesterly winds will push temps into the upper 80s in the deeper valleys.  It will be quite humid as well.  The front will continue to progress southeastward on Wednesday night into Thursday bringing scattered showers and storms to central Pennsylvania.  This front will still be close enough to bring some showers, maybe a thunderstorm Thursday.  Since the front will be sitting to our south, the most likely area to still see a lingering early shower or storm will be along or south of the Pennsylvania turnpike.  Otherwise, clouds will break for some sunshine Thursday. It will still be humid early but the humidity will start to lower later in the day. Highs Thursday will be in the 70s to near 80.
