Updated Thursday Midday, July 17th

Reported by Meteorologist Regina Miller

This afternoon will be partly sunny as a cool airmass is in place once again. There is just a slight chance for a stray shower today, however many locations will be dry and comfortable with low humidity again and temperatures in the low to mid 70s.  An area of high pressure will settle over the region tonight, and with a clear sky and light winds, it will be another cool night with lows ranging from the 40s in the cooler valley spots to the low 50s in the larger towns. As this high pressure system shifts to the east, more humid air will start to return. Friday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine with high temperatures back to near 80. There is a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm later in the day, but a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms over the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will also be warm and humid with clouds and some sunshine. Highs will be close to 80 and the nights will be muggier. Early next week will be warm and humid with clouds and sunshine. There will be a couple of pop up showers and thunderstorms each afternoon. As the humidity rises, the chance for heavier downpours will continue. The warm weather pattern will last through the end of next week. Here's a look at some of the current conditions across the region to start your morning.
