ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - After the nasty winter we've had communities across our region are dealing with pothole problems.

Crews in Altoona started patching potholes this month. But they're worried it’s only going to get worse.

Dave Diedrich is the Director of Public Works in Altoona. He says the repeated freezes and thaws are destroying the pavement and he thinks it is going to be a bad year. His crews are out using a temporary cold patch treatment to fix these potholes, but they can't really fix them until it gets warmer.

Luckily road filling these potholes comes out of road maintenance budget which starts over in January and not the winter maintenance; which is already stretched thin.

You can report a pothole in Altoona on their website.
