Reported by: Meteorologist Steve Newton

It will turn muggy during the morning and early afternoon hours today as clouds increase. Showers and thunderstorms will move in during the afternoon with temperatures reaching the upper 70s and low 80s before the rain begins. Some locations will get brief heavy downpours with the thunderstorms, but much of the rain will end during the overnight hours into Monday. Monday will have a mix of clouds and sunshine with showers and thunderstorms developing during the day with highs in the low to mid 70s. This unsettled pattern is going to stick around for much of the coming week, with a few showers or thundershowers Tuesday and Wednesday and highs in the mid and upper 70s. The risk for afternoon thunderstorms increases as we go into Thursday and Friday with highs both days near 80°.
