Morning Forecast Sunday, February 4, 2018

Snow will mix with some rain in spots later today.

Now a cold front will be moving through the area today, this will bring us snow showers that will bring a coating to around an inch along and east of I-99. Then west of I-99 will see 1 to 3 inches of snow, but there could be some spots that can see a little bit more. Now there will also be some rain mixing with the snow during the afternoon and evening hours for the southern part of the state. Because of this the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Elk, Cameron, Jefferson, Clearfield, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Somerset, and Bedford counties from 7 AM Sunday morning until 1 AM Monday morning. Caution should be used as there can be slick roads from the snow and the wintry mix. Sunday night behind the front it will be partly clear with some snow showers and flurries through the overnight. Low temperatures will be falling to the teens and around the 20-degree mark. Monday can start off with some lingering flurries, otherwise we will have a blend of clouds and sunshine. It will be a chilly day with high temperatures only getting to around the 30-degree mark. Monday night will be partly cloudy with the mercury falling into the teens. Tuesday will be variably cloudy with snow showers as another area of low pressure will be moving into the area. This system will bring us plenty of clouds with snow showers or a little bit of a mix on Wednesday as our high temperatures will be getting to the middle and upper 30s. Behind this system then on Thursday there will be a good a mix of clouds and sunshine, but a flurry or two early cannot be ruled out. It will be a chilly day behind the front as our high temperatures will be in the 20s to around the 30-degree mark. Then as we head into the end of the week on Friday we will have more clouds than sunshine with some flurries or a snow shower possible. High temperatures will be in the lower to the middle 30s. Saturday will have some snow or even a bit of a mix as our high temperatures will be getting to around 40.
