Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo
Today will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine. As warmer and more humid air returns there may be a pop up shower or thunderstorm in a few spots, but most spots and much of the time will be rain free. Temperatures will be a little higher than last couple of days, reaching the upper 70s to the lower 80s. As a cold front approaches there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms tonight into Sunday. While most spots will have at least a shower or thunderstorm on Sunday, the activity will be scattered and it will not rain all of the day. It will still be warm and humid Sunday with highs near or just above 80. A second front will approach on Monday. A disturbance along this front may also be cutting to our south and this combination may keep temperatures in the 70s Monday though it will still be humid. Behind this second front, another unseasonably cool air mass will be moving into the region for the middle of next week. As the cool air presses in Tuesday we'll have a fair amount of instability clouds and scattered showers. It will be breezy with temperatures only reaching the upper 60s to the lower 70s. As high pressure settles over the region, we'll have some sunshine Wednesday. It will still be cool despite some sunshine with highs in the lower to middle 70s. Thursday will be a little warmer with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will be back to near average Friday into the next weekend but the chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm will return.
