The Earth is full of weather extremes. Some of these extremes are dangerous, such as extreme high and low temperatures, while others are a wonder to behold, such as incredible visibility.

  • High temperature: 42°C (107.8°F) at Garoua, Cameroon. 
  • Low temperature: -55°C (-67°F) at Amundsen-Scott Station, Antarctica. A 10 mph wind put the wind chill to -99°F.
  • Highest dewpoint: 29°C (84.2°F) in Rajiv Gandhi International, India.
  • Minimum Pressure: 967 mb at Williams Field, Antarctica.
  • Highest Wind Gust: 117 mph on Mount Washington, New Hampshire, USA. 
  • Maximum 1-hour precip: 1.22" in Florala, Alabama, USA
