Evening Weather Forecast Wednesday, February 7th, 2018

Cold air will win out on Thursday.

We'll have leftover clouds and just a stray shower or two the rest of tonight. All advisories will be expired by early this evening. Low temperatures tonight will be in the teens so any leftover wet spots on roadways can become icy. Remember a wet road and an icy road do look the same.  Behind this system we'll have another push of chilly air for Thursday. We'll have a brisk wind with a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs in the 20s, some of the ridges may have a tough time getting out of the teens.

A warm front will pass close to the area on Friday and that will bring the chance for some light snow or flurries, especially north of I-80. Otherwise, Friday will not be quite as cold with highs in the 30s along with more clouds than sunshine. Saturday will turn even milder despite an increase in cloudiness. Some showers or drizzle will develop with highs in the upper 30s to the lower 40s. Rain will taper to showers on Sunday but it will turn even milder with highs in the lower to middle 40s. Behind that system we'll have a February thaw as we head into next week. We'll have a mix of clouds and sunshine on Monday with just the chance for a shower or two. Highs will be in the middle 40s. Tuesday will also be relatively mild despite some showers and drizzle possible. Highs again will be in the middle 40s. Temperatures will also rise into the 40s despite a good deal of clouds and a chance for a couple of showers on Wednesday. Eventually temperatures will drop back to near average for the following weekend.
