Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo
Today was another warm and humid today with clouds and sunshine. The combination of the warmth and humidity did help to spark off a couple of isolated showers this afternoon and there will still be something in a few spots this evening. These are very slow moving and contain heavier downpours so places that do get hit may get a fair amount of rainfall. There is also the chance for a rumble of thunder. These showers should diminish and the rest of tonight will be warm and muggy with patchy clouds and a few areas of fog. Lows will be in the middle to upper 60s. Wednesday will become very warm and humid with times of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will reach well into the 80s, especially west of I-99. These highs will occur before showers and thunderstorms move in during the midday and afternoon hours. These showers and thunderstorms will be sparked by a front moving in from the west. Any of the thunderstorms could be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours. This front will push to the east Wednesday night but it will stay muggy with patches of fog. This front will still be close enough to bring at least some clouds on Thursday. There still may be a shower in a few spots but most places will be rain free. The humidity will start to lower later Thursday and it won't be quite as warm with highs in the 70s. Thursday night will be a little more comfortable with patchy clouds and lows in the 50s. A bubble of high pressure will start to build into the area on Friday and give us a partly to mostly sunny sky along with highs in the 70s to near 80 with comfortable humidity. Friday night will be comfortable then the humidity will start to creep up again over the weekend. Saturday will feature sunshine mixing with clouds. There is only a slight chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm later Saturday. As a slow moving front approaches, there will be more numerous showers and thunderstorms later Sunday into Monday. With higher humidity the showers and thunderstorms can bring heavier downpours. Behind this front we'll transition to another comfortable spell of weather. As the cool air presses in, Tuesday will probably feature more clouds than sunshine along with scattered showers and highs in the 70s. The cooler spell will likely last through the middle of next week, but cool this time of the year still is usually quite comfortable for most people.
