Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo
Warm air did make it into the entire region today with more sunshine than clouds and temperatures pushing into the lower 80s in places. Now that the warm air is in place, tonight will not be as cool as recent nights. In fact it will be a bit muggy for this time of the year with lows in the 50s to near 60. Friday will be another summerlike day with some hazy sunshine but there will be a pop up shower or thunderstorm in spots during the afternoon. Despite any rain chance temperatures will reach to near or above 80° in many spots. A slow moving front will bring more numerous showers and thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday but a westerly wind may help to end the precipitation later Saturday with clouds trying to break later in the day. Behind the front, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will be mild with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Each day there will be a shower or thunderstorm popping up in some locations, but the next significant precipitation event will hold off until the middle of next week.
