The combination of a warm humid air mass and an approaching disturbance helpedto spark off numerous showers and thunderstorms today. Some of the rainfall washeavy enough to bring flooding in areas of poor drainage. The good news is thatthe bulk of the heavy rainfall has shifted out of the region. Later tonightwe'll have just leftover clouds along with pockets of fog and just an isolatedshower or thunderstorm. An approaching cold front will bring numerous showersand thunderstorms, some with heavy downpours again Tuesday. It will still behumid but not too warm Tuesday with highs in the 70s. This front is going tobring quite a cool air mass for the middle of July. Behind the front, Wednesdaywill be a bit breezy and cool for this time of the year. There will be somesunshine but a fair amount of instability clouds will develop for the middayand afternoon hours. There will be a couple of isolated showers. TemperaturesWednesday will only reach the 60s to the lower 70s. Wednesday night will becool with some spots in the 40s. Thursday will also be a bit cool for July witha mix of clouds and sunshine and just a stray shower or two. Temperatures onThursday will reach the lower to middle 70s in most spots. Friday will be alittle warm and more humid with temperatures approaching 80 along with a mix ofclouds and sunshine. There may be a shower or thunderstorm in some spots,mainly later in the day. The next disturbance will bring more numerous showersand thunderstorms on Saturday with more clouds than sunshine. It will be warmand humid with highs near 80. Sunday will also be warm and humid with cloudsand sunshine and scattered showers and thunderstorms. The chance for a showeror thunderstorm will diminish a little for Monday with highs still near or justabove 80. In fact, it looks like warm air will stay in the region through themiddle of next week.
