TIPTON, BLAIR COUNTY - Wednesday brought near record breaking unseasonably cold weather. And some Summer businesses are glad they have options.

Joey Miller brought the kids out to DelGrosso's Amusement Park. But she almost didn't because of how cold it was.
It wasn't chilly enough to keep Abigail and Saylor out of the water. They said the water was cold, but they were having fun swimming.

Amy Mearkle says on a day like this it's nice to have rides and slides. Since they have another park that isn’t a “water” park, people can go over to that side and ride the rides and play games and still have fun. She says the heavy rains earlier this Summer were hard on park business, but people are still coming despite the colder weather. The park will cut back on employees or put them on standby if the weather gets much colder and they don't need as many on staff. But for now the lifeguards are just putting on sweatshirts while they sit in their chair.

Joey Miller will just watch the kids from the side and keep her sweatshirt on too.

And even though it’s anything but the Dog Days of Summer, Buddy is still raising money for local animal shelters Thursday at the park. If you bring something like dog or cat food for the shelters your all day fun pass is half off.
