Young Entrepreneur Honored

JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY - An area boy was honored tonight for his entrepreneurial spirit, and his never give up attitude.

Back in July a ten year old AJ Sanders was running a lemonade stand in the Moxham section of Johnstown. An older boy pointed a bb gun at him and stole his money, police caught the robber and AJ went right back to selling his lemonade. He wasn't letting anything dampen his entrepreneurial spirit, and that's why the young businessman was honored.

The Enactus club at Saint Francis University handed out their award to a young businessman who overcame adversity.
Randy Frye the Dean of the Business School at Saint Francis says people like AJ are the building block of the economy. He said the street-side entrepreneur of today is the community and business leader of tomorrow.

AJ's mother was there to watch her son be honored. She says he’s polite, a good student, and he’s going far in this world.

The Enactus group gave him more than a plaque and a book, they're offering to help AJ expand his business and maybe get new signs or a wooden stand. Because AJ's not done, he plans to sell lemonade again next summer, and hot chocolate and coffee this winter.
