Water Restrictions Lifted

Restrictions lifted for local residents.
ALTOONA - From the Altoona Water Authority:

All drinking water restrictions have now been removed for public water customers in the Hollidaysburg area.

The Altoona Water Authority received a vague threat on Friday, October 25, 2013 regarding the Hollidaysburg water supply system. As a precautionary measure, customers were instructed not to drink or consume the water. The restrictions were issued for the Altoona Water Authority customers in the Foot of Ten and William Penn Highway (Old Route 22) areas. All Hollidaysburg, Blair Township, and Freedom Township water customers were also affected.

In response to the threat, the Altoona Water Authority and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Agency conducted extensive field and

Affected Altoona Water Authority customers (who have a valid phone number on file with the Customer Service Department) were notified about this event via an automated phone call.

ANY Altoona Water Authority customers who do not have a phone number on file are encouraged to call Customer Service during normal business hours at 814-949-2540, Option 1.  We will only use the information you supply to contact you in the event of an emergency.  (Check the upper-right corner of your bill to make sure that the phone number for your account is not missing or incorrect.)
