Voter ID Bill Opposition

A local branch of the NAACP is speaking out against the Voter ID bill.
JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY - A local branch of the NAACP is speaking out against the Voter ID bill.

The Johnstown Executive Committee for the NAACP met Monday night and discussed the bill that requires people to show identification before they cast a vote. They say even if the state ID's are free; it will still be difficult for people like the elderly or poor to travel to get them. They think this is an attempt to try and cut down on democratic voters before the presidential election.

And the president says the whole thing is a waste of time and money because the state would be creating a level of bureaucracy to solve a problem that wasn't there.

The Voter ID bill already passed the Senate.  The House of Representatives could vote on it Tuesday. And the Governor has indicated that he will sign it.
