VFW Post 3 in Altoona Needs Help

The VFW Post 3 in Altoona has major water damage. They're hoping to get the building cleaned up and ready for sale.
The oldest VFW Post in the country is shutting down their building in Altoona and they need help.

The commander of Post 3, Tom Byrne, showed us water damage from the past week. The recent cold snap broke water pipes at the old building at 1301, 17th Street. The post just can't keep up with repairs and costs here anymore. Tonight they met to gather volunteers to collect memorabilia from the building and get it cleaned up.

They're asking the community for help with donations, a buyer for the old building and ideas for a building that could be their new home. Contact Howard Hanna Realty with help on the building issues.
