ALTOONA - From the Altoona Police Department:

On November 3, 2013 at 1:32 AM, members of the Altoona Police Department were dispatched to a one vehicle rollover crash along the 1200 block of 6th Avenue.

Investigation revealed, a silver Mazda Tribute, occupied by its driver, a 29 year old female, and a 22 year old male passenger, was traveling eastbound along 6th Avenue at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle proceeded along the 1200 block of 6th Avenue its operator lost control and struck a parked vehicle. The impact pushed the parked vehicle 23 feet from its parked position. After this impact the Mazda Tribute continued along the southern sidewalk and sideswiped a residence and concrete landscaping. This impact caused the vehicle to rotate and become airborne and slid into another residence and wooden utility pole causing substantial damage to both.

Both the operator and passenger dies as a result of injuries sustained during this collision.

Preliminary information revealed that high speed and alcohol were contributing factors in this crash.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact APD Accident Reconstructionist, Sergeant Dan DeAntonio at 814-949-2504.

UPDATE: November 3, 2013 at 1:15 PM, Blair County Deputy Coroner Jeff Guyer stated that the victims of this crash are Heather Mozley (Driver) and Zachary Reed (Passenger) both residents from Altoona, PA.
