Shirley Fonda of Fonda's Foundlings takes center stage for this week's edition of Tuesday's Tails, with her two cats, Sweetie and Harvey.

Sweetie is a mom to six kittens.  She was captured off of University Drive in State College.  A renter there had been taking care of several stray cats in the area, and when she moved away, the cats were left to fend for themselves.  Sweetie is sweet and affectionate.  She has been diagnosed with Leukemia and FIV.  Despite that, she is expected to live a long and full life.  She will however, have to spend the rest of her days as an indoor cat.  Sweetie has been spayed and is up to date on all of her shots.  She would prefer a home without dogs or cats.

Harvey loves to be petted all day long.  He is a short-coated, tiger-striped, tabby cat.  Harvey has tested positive for the FIV virus, because of that Harvey must be kept inside.  Harvey gets along great with other cats.  His current "best friend" is a cat named Zayne, who has also tested positive for FIV.  Harvey has been neutered and is up to date on shots.

Watch the clip to see Shirley talk about what these different immune disorders mean, how it affects their lifespan, and if they'll need special treatment.

If you are interested in adopting Harvey or Sweetie, Shirley holds an adoption event every Saturday at the Petco in State College.  You can also call Shirley at (814) 238-4758 to schedule a viewing of one of the animals in her home, or shoot her an e-mail at ssfonda@juno.com.
