Trooper Shot in Brockway, Jefferson County

A State Trooper is in stable condition at UPMC Altoona after being shot in the neck.
UPDATE 8:00PM  ---BROCKWAY, JEFFERSON COUNTY -- State Police CERT teams surround a home at 1881 Cemetery Hill Road, Brockway, Jefferson County in what is being called an "active shooter" situation.

State Police report that at approximately 2:30pm,  2 troopers were serving a warrant to a man on Cemetery Hill Road when shots rang out.  One trooper was hit; the other pulled him to safety. The injured trooper was flown from the scene to UPMC Altoona at 3:15pm.  He is currently in stable condition after being shot in the neck.

The suspect retreated into the home. As of 8pm, the CERT team is still surrounding the home.

All schools in the Brockway Area School District were in lockdown for approximately 4 hours. The students were then released to their parents or bussed home.

Cemetery Hill Road and the area known as "Cemetery Hill" remains blocked.

State Police are asking all people to stay inside and away from the scene.
