New figures from the State Health Department show that Blair County's no longer at the top of the heap. For the past few weeks, Blair County's reported the highest number of confirmed flu cases in the state, but that changed in the week that ended January 4.
Allegheny County is now reporting 302 confirmed cases of influenza, overtaking Blair County, now at 274. Elsewhere in our region, Cambria County is now reporting 119 cases of flu, Centre County 57, and Huntingdon at 90 confirmed cases of influenza.
The flu is still widespread across the state and the Centers for Disease Control says the illness is still on the increase.
