"Stop the Texts - Stop the Wrecks" Aims at Distracted Drivers

Driving while distracted is the #1 killer of teens and a new safety campaign aims to reverse the trend.

It's called "Stop the Texts - Stop the Wrecks" and uses these TV and radio PSA's along with social media to reach these young drivers.

PA Attorney General Linda Kelly joined her colleagues from all 50 states in bringing the message here.

"Taking your eyes off the road even for a short period of time makes the road more dangerous for you, your passengers and everyone else around you."

A national survey shows more than 80 percent of drivers, ages 16 to 24 years, admit to reading a text message while driving. That makes those drivers 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash than non-texting drivers.
