Steelers Return to Practice

(LATROBE, Pa.) -- The Steelers returned to practice on Tuesday after an off-day on Monday but without one of their wide receivers. Emmauel Sanders had surgery on both feet in the offseason, the most recent one 12 weeks ago on his left foot, but it did not heal as expected. He was on the field the first couple days of practice but started to have problems. He is now walking on crutches and wearing a boot on that left foot and is expected to miss at least three weeks.

This is not great news considering the Steelers lost out on coveted free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress and Hines Ward is on the physically unable to perform list as his thumb is still continues to recover from surgery.

OTHER NOTES:
Steelers have signed former Nittany Lion tight end John Gilmore in hopes of him backing up Heath Miller.  Gilmore has also played for Tampa Bay and Chicago.

They also re-sign long snapper Greg Warren to a two-year contract.
