The maker of the shoe that's supposed to shape-up is having to pay out.

Skechers claimed it's Shape-Up brand shoes would firm up your butt, help you lose weight, and reduce cellulite plus promised other health benefits.

The state attorney general argued there was no proof.

Linda Kelly joined with 44 other state prosecutors to announce that the rocker-bottom shoe company has to pay out $40 million in refund money, plus an extra 5 million to the states.
The attorney general alleged that there was no real difference in muscle activation and calorie burning whether you where the toning shoes or regular sneakers.

"Skechers focused on fitness-conscious women however their promises of weight loss and strengthening were misleading to many consumers," Kelly said.
