Researchers say a 15 minute written test can help spot the early signs of Alzheimer's disease. The four page test scores patients on language, reasoning, problem solving and memory. Studies show it can detect 80 percent of people with mild thinking and memory issues.
Scientists at Ohio State University hope the test will help catch mental changes earlier so doctors can start treatment sooner.
Dr. Douglas Scharre, Director of Cognitive Neurology at Ohio State, says you can take the test at home or in your doctor's office.
But, you need to talk to your doctor before interpreting the results.
