SFU's McKibben, Bross Earn NEC Honors

Red Flash are 7-6-1 on the year.
SOMERSET, NEW JERSEY - After improving to 3-0-0 in Northeast Conference play with a 5-0 drubbing of Bryant, two Red Flash women's soccer student-athletes have earn league weekly awards.  Senior MAC Hermann candidate Tesa McKibben (Cogan Station, Pa./Montoursville) picked up her 17th Player of the Week nod, while Siobhan Bross (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) was named Rookie of the Week.

McKibben and fellow senior Barbara Maros de Carvalho (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Sagrado Coraco de Jesus) led the Red Flash to a decisive 5-0 win over Bryant. The duo combined for 14 shots, each converting on two, to lead a potent Red Flash offensive. In addition to her two goals, McKibben assisted on two Maros de Carvalho goals – including the game-winner in the 40th minute – to bring her season point total to 26.

In addition to a superlative performance in the middle, Bross did her part to fuel SFU's five-goal outburst against Bryant on Sunday. The rookie picked up assists on goals by Tesa McKibben (Cogan Station, Pa./Montoursville) and Ellie Gavin (Hilliard, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) as the Flash won their fourth straight game. She also took two shots on the afternoon.
