School Bans Balls at Recess

The school cites a need for safety while parents say the school is going too far.
PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK – A Long Island School has banned balls and requiring teacher supervision for games like tag after a rash of playground injuries.

According to CBS News, the ban at Weber Middle School will apply to footballs, baseballs, soccer balls, lacrosse balls or any other equipment that might harm a student or school friends. Softer Nerf balls will be allowed.

Other school districts in the area are considering similar bans.
