Rally for National Motto in Schools

The phrase "In God We Trust" has been on U.S. money for 150 years.
HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY – People on both sides of the debate to have “In God We Trust” in Pennsylvania schools held rallies at the State Capitol Wednesday.

Republican Representative Rick Saccone (Allegheny & Washington Counties) is calling for the motto to be hung in every school in the state.

“All we want to do is display that motto,” said Rep. Saccone. “We teach the pledge, we teach civics, we teach patriotism, we should also teach our national motto.”

The phrase “In God We Trust” has been on U.S. money for 150 years. According to the White House, President Eisenhower signed the law officially establishing the phrase as our national motto in 1956.
