Public Forum Helps Explain Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act is still a confusing topic for many people, but Tuesday, a local group in Centre County is trying to help explain it.
STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - The Affordable Care Act is still a confusing topic for many people, but Tuesday night, a local group in Centre County is trying to help explain it.

Local organizations are co-hosting "ACA 101" to help explain what impact the Affordable Care Act will have on you.

A panel of four experts will talk about the Affordable Care Act's background and explain what it offers for both individuals and families, as well as small businesses.

Experts will also talk about how people who remain uninsured can meet health care needs in Centre County after the act goes into law next year.

The panel includes a professor of Environmental Studies from Bucknell University, a senior Penn State Extension Education professor, the Executive Director of Centre Volunteers in Medicine and President of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Penn State.

The meeting starts Tuesday night at 7:00 P.M. in the State College Borough Building on South Allen Street. It will last until 8:45 P.M.

The forum is free. Organizers are hoping to host a series of these events, but the next one won't be until after the holidays.

Here is the meeting agenda:
