PSU Hockey Foe Still In Limbo

Nittany Lions have back up plan in place if opponent must change.
UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY - Penn State men's hockey is set to open the new Pegula Ice Arena one way or another Friday night.

But there's still a question as to who the Nittany Lions will play.

Army last week said it's still good to go despite a government shutdown.

But just in case, there is a back-up plan in place according to head coach Guy Gadowsky, with one report from Buffalo saying Penn State could host Canisius.

"Nothing has been confirmed, but as far as we're concerned we're preparing for Army just like we have been,” Gadowsky says. “It doesn't change anything we do. Until they tell us that we're not playing Army, then we'll maybe go into those contingencies, which we do have in place, but we're preparing for Army, period."

Gadowsky added that at this point in the season his team is more concerned with how they’re preparing than game planning for a specific opponent. He says Penn State will watch a little bit of film on the Black Knights, but not much.
