PSU Coach Leads Team USA to Gold

New Nittany Lions head baseball coach, Rob Cooper, returns from under-18 World Cup.
UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY - Penn State’s new baseball coach has yet to lead the Nittany Lions on the field, but he’s already captured a title since taking the job.

Rob Cooper recently returned from leading Team USA to an under-18 world title in Taiwan.

Cooper's club downed powers Cuba, Chinese Taipei, and Japan on the way to gold.

Winning for the USA is an experience he'll remember for a long time.

"It was overwhelming,” Cooper says. “It was a great feeling. But the best part was to sit there and watch those 20 guys come together as one and watch them dog pile and watch them celebrate. It was just an unbelievable feeling."

As for recruiting, Cooper says winning a gold medal with Team USA will definitely help attract players to Happy Valley.
