Pirates Spiraling As They Lose Again

The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Chicago Cubs, 11-6, as they continue to lose ground in the National League Central Division.
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates lose to the Chicago Cubs, 11-6, as they continue to lose ground in the National League Central Division. They started the day five and a half games back of division leader Milwaukee.

The Cubs hit six homeruns and knocked all-star Kevin Correia out of the game before the first out was even recorded in the top of the third inning. He allowed eight earned runs off 10 hits.

Garrett Jones belted two homeruns while Brandon Wood added a two-run shot for the Pirates.

The Pirates have now lost their last five games and seven of their last eight.
