Petraeus Testifies About Consulate Attack

Former CIA Director David Petraeus testified in front of Congress Friday morning about the September attack on a U.S. Consulate in Libya.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The former head of the CIA appeared before Congressional Intelligence Committees in Washington Friday to provide insight into the September attack on an American Consulate in Libya.

David Petraeus, who resigned last week following his acknowledgement he had an affair, was scheduled to appear before committees Thursday. The hearing was put on hold following his resignation.

House and Senate leaders say they still want to hear from Petraeus because he traveled to Benghazi, Libya following the Sept. 11 attack that left four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, dead. Leaders said Petraeus has knowledge about the situation few others can provide.
