Penn State Hockey Still Ready for Season Opener

The federal government shutdown may impact the first game at the Pegula Ice Arena.
UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY – Penn State Hockey’s first game of the season against Army is still set for October 11th, a spokesman for Penn State Hockey told WTAJ Tuesday.

The Department of Defense announced Tuesday the suspension of all intercollegiate athletic competitions at service academies as a result of the government shutdown.

Army Hockey is not the only team from the service academies playing against Penn State Hockey this fall. According to Penn State Athletics, the Nittany Lions play two games against Air Force in Colorado October 18-19.
