Parents Fighting Student Transfer

School is about to start up again and some students just found out they'll be going somewhere different.
ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - School is about to start up again and some students just found out they'll be going somewhere different.

Less than a week ago about a dozen parents in Altoona got letters saying their kids were added to the list of changes with the closing of two elementary schools. But they're making a last ditch effort to keep their kids at their current school.

Earlier this year the school board decided to close Wright and Washington Jefferson Elementary Schools. At the time parents of kids in those schools were unhappy that they're kids were going to be going somewhere new.

Now because of distributing students, school boundaries, and bus routes students at Pleasant Valley Elementary school will be moved into Penn Lincoln.

Parents of those students are also unhappy they were notified by mail just four weeks before classes start. And they're bringing their fight to the school board hoping to make them change their minds.
