Steamy air will stick around into Thursday.
Updated: Tuesday Night, September 10th, 2013
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

A steamy pattern will continue into Thursday before a big change comes our way. Wednesday will be another very warm and humid day with some hazy sunshine, but as a front starts to approach, there will be a couple of showers and thunderstorms scattered about the region. Temperatures will reach the middle to upper 80s before any rainfall. Wednesday night will stay muggy then Thursday will be warm and humid with clouds and sunshine. The cold front will cross bringing several showers and thunderstorms to the area Thursday. Behind the front, Friday will be breezy and much cooler with considerable cloudiness and scattered showers. Temperatures will reach no higher than the 60s with the mercury dropping into the 50s during the afternoon over some of the higher terrain. The core of the cool air mass will settle over the region Saturday. Despite clouds breaking for some sunshine temperatures on Saturday will not reach higher than the 60s. But even though it will be technically cooler on Saturday, it won't feel quite as cold thanks to less wind and the return of some sunshine. With a clear sky and light winds temperatures will plunge to near 40 Saturday night. Some of the colder locations may have a tough of frost. Sunday will feature sunshine mixing with some clouds with a milder afternoon with highs in the 70s.
