Overnight Forecast Thursday, November 7th, 2013

Some places will wake up with a covering of snow Friday morning.
Updated: Thursday Night, November 7th, 2013
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

Friday will start off with a fair amount of clouds and scattered snow showers, especially west of I-99. Clouds will break for some sunshine Friday afternoon but it will be too little, too late as temperatures will not reach higher than the upper 30s to the lower 40s. Saturday will be breezy and not quite as chilly with a mix of clouds and sunshine. A cold front will move into the region on Sunday but will have limited moisture so we'll only have a slight chance for a shower in locations. Behind the front the mercury will not drop too much, but then a stronger cold front will move through with some rain then snow showers Monday night. Behind that front, much colder air will press into the region on Tuesday with snow or rain showers. This cold air is going to stay entrenched over the region Wednesday into Thursday and a couple of pieces of energy will bring the chance for snow or a mix of snow or rain. It's still way too early for details but the chance for the first widespread covering of the snow of the season is fairly high.
