Overnight Forecast Friday, December 20th, 2013

Unseasonably mild air continues to flow into the region.
Updated: Friday Night, December 20th, 2013
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

Saturday will be unseasonably mild despite clouds, fog and periods of rain. Temperatures will rise into the 50s. The mercury will continue to rise Saturday night into Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front. The mercury will even rise to near 60 on Sunday even through showers and perhaps a thunderstorm move through the region. Because of the rainfall and the melting snow, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Elk county though at this point, we think the flooding threat is small. This front will push off to the east Monday with any rain showers changing to snow showers as temperatures will start near 40 and then drop into the 30s. Much colder air will return on Christmas Eve day with scattered flurries and snow showers. Christmas Day will be partly sunny but chilly.
