New Making Strides Walk Coming to Bedford in October

The American Cancer Society is adding a new Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in the region.
BEDFORD, BEDFORD COUNTY -- The American Cancer Society is adding a new Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in the region.

This year a new walk focused on recruiting walkers from Bedford, Somerset and Cambria counties will take place no Saturday October 15, 2011.

This walk will be in addition to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk of Central Pennsylvania that takes place on Saturday October 1, 2011 at the Penn State Altoona Campus.

Walkers from around the region can choose which location and date works best for them.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Alleghenies walk will start at Bedford High School on and wind through downtown Bedford and end at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort on October 15th.

Walkers who would like to create teams and breast cancer survivors who would like to be part of the walk can attend a free informational breakfast on Saturday July 30th at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort at 9am.

Dr. Kathy Erlichman of Pennwood Ophthalmic Associates is serving at the Chairwoman for this new walk.  Scott Stuckey the General Manager of the Omni Bedford Springs Resort is the co-chair.
Erlichman is a two time breast cancer survivor.
