Updated: Sunday morning, December 8th
Reported by: Meteorologist Steve Newton

Snow showers will develop in the late morning in the southern portion of our viewing area in the late morning hours and spread north through the afternoon. Snow will be heavy at times, with the highest accumulations in the Laurel Highlands of Somerset County and along the Turnpike, with snow totals less the further north you are. The greatest difficulty on the roads will be Sunday evening into Monday when the snow turns to freezing rain and sleet. The majority of the wintry mix will be done by Monday morning and temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 30s for Monday afternoon. Cooler air is going to move in again for the middle of the coming week, with high temperatures in the mid 20s to around 30° and some communities will have low temperatures in the single digits.
